Desperate to reclaim his stolen reel of The Passion of the Christ 2: Crucify This, Gibson kidnaps Lois and drags Peter through a Hitchcock-inspired thrill ride. But the real fun in this episode comes from Peter's war against Mel Gibson. It's funny to see the two quickly settle into the role of a quiet, suburban married couple and do all the things parents do, like planting cocaine in the school locker of Chris' upside down-faced nemesis, Jake Tucker. Much of the show's best material comes from the Brian/Stewie pairing (a fact that will be reiterated many times on this list), and this episode is no exception.
After poking fun at their own cancellation in the opening moments, the writers launched right into a new adventure that saw Peter and Lois take a romantic vacation to rekindle their marriage while Brian and Stewie babysat Chris and Meg back home. The show didn't seem to miss a beat, luckily. After a few misfires, they manage to call for a woodworker which connects them to Quagmire and the guys who have been building a chair as a hobby. After they leave, they tried to use the voice recognition on one of the robbers' left behind phone to call for help. When they think they're about to be rescued by the timely arrival of a delivery man, he turns out to be a robber casing the house, and invites several other robbers along for a party. When the family returns, they give him hell for his deception, but quickly manage to get their heads stuck in the railings as well. Determined to show them a life before such distractions, she insists on taking them to a colonial recreation town but Peter refuses to go by pretending to be sick and is left behind, where he manages to get his head stuck in the stair railings when he drops a meatball on his way upstairs. Distracted by their phones, they completely miss Jesus Christ going berserk during Sunday services. Peter decides to get new Crabapple phones for the entire family to Lois' displeasure. Meanwhile, Quagmire becomes a woodworker to impress chicks and later give them another kind of wood work. Lois gets cold feet, when the newly released I-Phone causes her family to lose touch with the world around them. However, the raw episode without the commentary was released as a special feature in the Family Guy Season 17 DVD box set.

As this is happening, Larry references the "Luke, I am your father." line from the movie The Empire Strikes Back by saying "Luke, this is your landlord. When Larry plugs the lamp in, it turns into a wide lightsaber and he cuts the store in half. Larry, looking for a light bulb for his bedside lamp, puts in a high-wattage lighthouse bulb, then criticizes Steve for saying that wasn't a good idea, commenting that he didn't go to kindergarten for 12 years because he was stupid (it was because he got his foot caught in the radiator).
